The date of the construction of the cottage is not sure.
Two stones dated in 1681 were found, but in the Town
Hall record office there are some documents that describe
some repairs in the door of the cottage that very same
year.

Stone found in the cottage
The cottage belonged to the Vilà family until
1929 when the nowadays owners' forefathers bought it.
A family of 5 people and a servant who helped in the
house lived on the farm. They even made money to buy
new properties.
The
extension of the farm is about 110,000 m2 of fields
and forests. Until 1952 the farm had an olive grove
to produce its own oil. The farm still keeps the pantry,
the oil mill, the well and some stone sinks.

It also had a vineyard to produce the wine for the people
of the house and to sell. Nowadays the vat is a changing
room and the celler is a bedroom and a bathroom. Cereals,
lucerne and turnips are other growings produced in the
fields to feed the animals of the farm or to sell.

The animals were also fed with fruits and seeds. The
cows, sows, piglets, geese, ducks, cocks, hens, rabbits
and a horse lived in the stables of house. On Friday
the people from the house went to the market in La Bisbal.
There all the animals, cereals, vegetables and eggs
that the farmers didn't need were sold, and the weekly
shopping was made.

The
house was only uninhabited at the end of the 90's. The
restoration works started in 1996. First the roof, then
the kitchen, some bedrooms... until 2005 the house was
completely restored. Nowadays the owner's descendants
live in a part of the house.
